I'm Rebekah Miller, and I'm looking forward to getting to know you. I wholeheartedly welcome all people: all genders, all orientations, all relationship structures, all abilities, all races, all religions, all countries of origin. All people deserve a safe place for self-discovery, healing, and belonging, and I want to co-create that safe space with you in our work.
I will help you find your voice,
let people in, and become known, so that you
can develop the loving relationships that you crave.
I specialize in treating trauma, relationship distress, and sexual concerns.
TRAUMA. You live with the feeling of needing to hide your true self from others, the fear that eventually everyone will realize that you aren't good enough and leave you, or the feeling of being broken beyond repair. These beliefs have been with you for as long as you can remember. These beliefs impact all of your relationships.
RELATIONSHIP DISTRESS. Your partner is unhappy, and they say they want more of you. They want to know what you’re thinking and feeling, and they want you to be present with them. When you’re criticized, you feel terrible. You feel like you’ll never be good enough. You resolve that you just have to be perfect, and you beat yourself up when you fail to be perfect.
SEXUAL CONCERNS. Your partner wants you to WANT to have sex with them. You want to check sex off your “to do” list and be done with it. You don’t know how to WANT sex with your partner. You don’t know how to stop cringing when you’re touched. You may even have pain or discomfort during sex that makes you avoid it at all costs. You don’t know how to find energy to give more to your partner. You ask yourself, “What’s wrong with me? Why don’t I want sex?”
HOW I HELP. I am a solution-focused relationship therapist. This means that I take time to understand your individual and relationship goals and then I actively team up with you in order to help you reach them.
Your therapy will help you:
1. Understand why you are struggling and stuck in certain patterns of behavior and thinking.
2. Heal from the past and present pain that makes life so difficult to cope with.
3. Learn the skills that you need so that you can get unstuck.
4. Develop the love for yourself and others that will to help you find joy in your daily life.
5. Maintain positive changes on your own.
I am strength-based rather than problem-focused. I believe that you, your significant other, and your family have the strengths to overcome your challenges. With compassion, non-judgment, honesty, and humor, I will help you access your strengths so that you can thrive.
I get to know YOU and your relationships. I enjoy getting to know people like you. I am curious and interested in you and your experiences in your family, in your relationships, and within other contexts that influence you, such as your community, culture, your employment, and the military.
I wholeheartedly believe that there is always hope. You and your relationships are not broken beyond repair. Let me walk with you to draw out that inner strength that feels so far away. Some sessions together will be emotionally hard. Many will be eye opening and energizing. We will celebrate together as you find the freedom and joy that comes from making lasting change.
It will be worth it. Join me on your journey. Schedule a complimentary consultation to find out how we can work together to realize your goals .
